É engraçado como para muitos países a viagem que estamos a fazer é uma coisa normal. Em krabi conhecemos um casal de australianos com duas filhas, que estão também a viajar pelo mundo durante 7 meses e que acabam esta jornada já no próximo mês.
As crianças precisam de pouco para brincarem e na piscina a Leonor começou a brincar com uma menina, no final em conversa perguntei à mãe de onde eram, a resposta foi australia, o nosso próximo destino. Conversa puxa conversa e perguntaram se no dia seguinte queríamos ir com eles passar o dia num barco e ver umas ilhas. Aceitamos e foi o melhor dia em krabi 🙂
Como há quem diga que não existem coincidências, foi engraçado que no dia que os conhecemos o André estava a marcar o avião para a Tasmânia, mas tentou 4 vezes e havia sempre algo a falhar, disse-lhe para esquecer e depois tentar mais tarde. Mas depois de conversamos com eles percebemos que devíamos inverter dois dos nossos próximos destinos, uma ajuda preciosa.
Esta viagem como já dissemos várias vezes é para nos encontrarmos como família, estarmos mais atentos uns aos outros, mas isso não significa que novas amizades não surjam, ainda para mais quando são pessoas exatamente como a mesma onda e sintonia que nós. Foi isso que aconteceu com este casal. Sabem aquelas pessoas com quem apetece mesmo conversar? Sorridentes, faladores e divertidas? Pois foi mesmo isso que aconteceu. Desde o dia no barco, a um jantar e mesmo um fish spa kid tudo serviu para falarmos e nos conhecermos melhor.
No início a Leonor perguntava-me como iriam falar com os outros meninos, dizia que não sabia e que tinha vergonha. Quando conheceu a Isla, em poucos minutos estava a comunicar ainda que com poucas palavras, falava inglês e entendiam-se. Como é possível? As crianças são umas verdadeiras esponjas!
Fiquei feliz de ver, radiante ficou ela por perceber que consegue e que daqui a um tempo ainda estará mais desenrascada.
Para nós pais também foi ótimo, é sempre bom conhecer pessoas tão simpáticas como estes novos amigos.
A despedida nunca é fácil e depois de alguns dias a brincarem sem parar, a Leonor dizia que era bom ter sempre esta amiga com ela. Com uma lágrima no canto do olho e um abraço muito apertado foi assim que se deu a despedida, mas para já é só um até já, pois combinámos encontrarmo-nos no próximo mês na Austrália.
Friends and now?
It’s funny how in many countries what we’re doing is pretty normal. In Krabi, we met an Australian couple with two daughters, who are also travelling the world for 7 months and who will finish their journey next month.
Children need little to play and in the swimming pool Leonor started playing with a girl, at the end I asked the mother where they were from and she said Australia, our next destination. We started chatting and they invited us to spend the following day with them on a boat to see some islands. We said yes and it was the best da yin Krabi! 🙂
Some say there are no coincidences, and indeed the day we met André was trying to book our flight to Tasmania and there was always something wrong. I told him that we’d try later and to just forget it. Well, after talking to them we realized that it would be better to swap two of our destinations, which was just a great help.
We have often said before that this journey is a way for us to bond as a family, to be more attentive to each other, but that doesn’t mean we won’t make new friends, especially with people who are on the same wavelength as we are. That is exactly what happened with this couple. You know the sort of people you really enjoy talking to? Smiley, talkative and fun? Well, that is exactly what they were like! From the day on the boat to a dinner and even a fish spa kid, it was all wonderful for us to talk and get to know each other better.
At first, Leonor used to ask me how they would be able to talk to other children. She said she didn’t know how to and that she was embarrassed. When she met Isla, in a short few minutes they were communicating, and even if with very few words she was speaking English and they were making themselves understood. How is it possible? Kids are real sponges!
I was happy to witness it, and she was beaming with pride when she realized that she can do it and that soon she will be able to do it even better. For us, parents, it was also great! It’s always good to meet such nice people!
Saying goodbye is never easy and, after a few days playing non-stop, Leonor was saying how it would be great to always have her friend with her. With teary eyes and a tight hug, they said goodbye. But it won’t be long till they see each other again, since we’re meeting up next month in Australia.
